Was there no communication in this car?

I'm sure all of you have read, or been made aware of teh fact that Hunter S. Thompson is dead. I really didn't want to make any comments on the fact yesterday because everybody "in the know" would have been posting at great length, linking to articles, and coming up with obscure quotes, and those less "in the know" would have just been spouting Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas quotes.

But the truth of the matter is that we lost a great voice that represented us, even though the vast majority of his exploits took place in teh 60's and 70's, he wasn't afraid to speak up against the fascists. While juast about everybody has seen the movie, most of you haven't read the book, or the others that he wrote. He really was a voice of reason and logic and he had "been there" for a good deal of modern history in one state of mind or another. His "Gonzo Journalism" could probably be considered the founding basis on which the modern blogger "reporters" such as Atrios and Attaturk made their comparison. Much like Nicola Tesla was the father of modern telecommunications, Hunter S. Thompson was the founder of modern journalism. He will be sorely missed by me at least...

Can't sleep...dwarves will steal my ore...

I've become pretty well entrenched in World of Warcraft. Enough so to have officially had "hijinks" now. There's a long story behind that catchy title. My character's chosen profession was blacksmith. seemed economical. Class = Warrior, why not craft my own equipment. So following in the spirit of economy I decided to take mining as my gathering profession. And why not, if i'm gonna craft epic weaons and fantastic suits of armor, wouldn't it be best if i could supply my own materials as well? Well he dwarves have other ideas. For about a week or so now virtually every mineral vein that I find already comes equipped with a dwarf looting it. I'm not going crazy thinking this is the "Short Menace" or something...chad's seen this in action and had it happen to him on several occasions. It wouldn't be so bad if there were other races thrown in there, but it's always dwarves. So my Night Elf Warrior/Miner/Blacksmith/Nurse is now lvl 19, making his own shit and fighting with(against) the dwarf menace whenever I can
